Beta Info
As of February 1, 2012, this site is undergoing its first major redesign since 2008, and its first major appearance change since 2004. I chose to deploy the new code in-place on the site and update it accordingly, which encourages faster development, but also causes some strange behavior throughout the site. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Most notably, the site now aggressively caches all images, CSS, and javascript, to improve server performance. While further image changes are unlikely, as of the last update to this info page, CSS changes are frequent, so if something doesn't look quite right, simply hit refresh to grab the latest version of the CSS file.
I welcome any and all feedback, feel free to send an email if you find any bugs, glitches, or just something you'd like to comment on.
Future Features
The following features are currently on my to-do list for this site. I welcome any suggestions!
- RSS feed, combining written articles and gallery images, as well as separate feeds.
- Twitter feed, including an archiving tool, allowing full browsing and searching of tweets here on the site.
- Latitude widget, displaying my most recent location
- Improved user tools, including Site Settings and system log viewer
- Improved Links directory
Note: As of February 15th, the CSS directory has changed to one that doesn't cache at all, so refreshing to get the latest CSS shouldn't be necessary anymore, unless you're looking at the site while I'm editing it.
Note: The PDF/DVI/PS generator for CMS articles caches those files server-side once they're created, but it may take up to 20 seconds or so to generate a PDF file the first time one needs to be made.
