Wall-E, and Fun With Guilty Consciences
I finally saw Wall-E, and all I can say is that it was one of the sweetest love stories I’ve seen in a long time. Perhaps because the main characters communicated with only pantomime and saying each other’s names, but something about it just felt more real than most love stories with human characters.
I totally cried at the end, too.

Also, a fun anecdote from the job interview day. If you’re unaware, I drive a black Crown Victoria that used to be a police cruiser. I had just washed it the night before, so it was nice and shiny that day. And, I was wearing a black suit, white shirt, and black tie (think “Men In Black” suit), with mirrored sunglasses, and my hair tied back quite tightly. As much as I hate getting dressed up like that, I really like that suit
So, after my interview, I went to the gas station a couple buildings away. This particular station is at the corner of a busy intersection, so I chose a pump with a good view of the street to people-watch (making sure the front of my car faced the street). I stood there with my best emotionless expression, and pumped my gas, while random people stared like crazy. It was awesome
At one point, a rather broken-looking van pulled up to the pump diagonally across from me. The motion caught my eye, so I turned to watch, keeping my poker-face the whole time. The van had no front license plate (meaning it’s from out of state), and both visible occupants appeared to be hispanic. They stopped at the pump, and the driver started to get out, but his passenger stopped him by tapping his shoulder and casually gesturing in my direction (thanks to the sunglasses, it didn’t look like I was looking at them). The driver looked at me, his eyes widened, and he put the van in reverse to leave the gas station.
That alone had me laughing like crazy on the inside, but this little scene kept going. This particular gas station has a large, usually empty parking lot next to it, with some sparse bushes between the two, and it’s possible to drive into the other lot without entering the road. So, at this point I had turned my head to look like I was watching them, and the driver backed the van all the way into this other parking lot. He didn’t stop until the big bush at the end of the row was between us, at which point he made an abrupt U-turn and quickly pulled in with the flow of traffic. Thanks to his elaborate actions, I never caught a clear view of his license plates, except to see that the van was from Texas.
On the one hand, I kinda wonder if I should’ve called him in, he was obviously going to great lengths to hide something. But on the other hand, I’m not sure I would’ve wanted to explain his reaction to a police dispatcher without something tangible to follow up on; half the cops in this town already think I’m an impersonator simply because I drive a Police Interceptor, I really don’t want to be seen driving it in an official-looking suit more than I have to. Looking like a gay hippy has been my main logical argument against anyone who thinks I could have a chance of pulling anyone over, regardless of what I’m driving.

*chuckles* Oh my, that was a great story. ^_^ I haven’t laughed so hard in days.

Mommy and I LOVED Wall-E! Made us cry each time.
I saw it once at AC and we’ve been to see it twice, so that makes it 3 times for me. (And I wouldn’t mind seeing it again!)
Aside from the lovely love story and amazing graphics, there is a lot of hidden Pixar stuff to go looking for too. (Like the Pizza Planet truck that EVE scans.)
Oh and for a laugh, check out the Buy ‘n’ Large website: http://www.buynlarge.com/ It’s super complete and almost totally believeable too! It looks like any well-built corporate website.

LOL! I’ve had similar experiences with my previous vehicle: black 2000 Ford Explorer, grey interior, privacy glass windows, black rims with just the chrome center cap.
Add a CB or Ham radio antenna on top of that plus me in a black jacket with black sunglasses makes for people slowing down in the left-hand lane on the highway while I’m in the middle lane, thinking I’m an un-marked trying to catch speeders.
On the drive down to one AC many years ago, I got semi lost and needed to pull a U-turn on I-90 (went too far and missed the I-79 exit). I turned into one of those small gravel service roads that crosses the median between each direction on the Interstate. My goodness! The number of people who started to slam on the breaks, combined with trucks doing some hard engine breaking was absolutely hilarious!
I really like my current vehicle, but I miss those days too.

I loved Wall-E for the exact same reasons- and yes, I balled my eyes out at the end. I haven’t cried that hard at a movie in YEARS.
Also, lol. XD

*sings* Here comes the wuff in Black…
I haven’t Seen Wall-e, but I am psyched up for the release of The Dark Knight. I loved Batman Begins (its dark in a way few movies are nowadays), And I want to see for myself if Heath Ledger really deserves to be one of the very few people who won a Best-Actor Oscar Post-mortem.

Must see wall-e, we’re going to see it Wednesday when Brady comes to visit. I’m starting to cringe because I cried hard near the end of Horton hears a who.
Also Felix you must look Boss more often, its sweet to see other people’s reactions.
As a side note, Hellboy 2 wasn’t bad at all.

OHHHH YOU ARE SOoooooooooo BADDDD!
I was expecting you to say the interview place panicked (”ITS A RAID! THE FEDS ARE HERE!”)

Oh wow, I can’t believe they set that up! I love Pixar

Well, thankfully, the credits are really long, with cutesy little animations throughout. It’ll give you time to stop crying
You really should see this movie in the theater, the visuals are just incredible. Beautiful film.

[giggles] Well, I might’ve gotten a reaction like that if the building hadn’t been completely deserted. It was one of those shared office buildings, and for some reason, there wasn’t a single living person that I could find anywhere, aside from in the conference room where I interviewed. I didn’t even get to see the front desk of this place (it’s a strange layout).

I wish I could see Wall-E but not here in holland nope!
Great story BTW

half the cops in this town already think I’m an impersonator simply because I drive a Police Interceptor
Having all the police drive the same make and model of vehicle, particularly one that hasn’t even been widely sold (if at all) to civilians in years, kind of defeats the whole purpose of “unmarked cruisers.” What’s baffling is that they seem to be well aware of it.
