For Sale - 1995 Land Rover Discovery
VIN: SALJY12455A121082 • 109,234.9 Miles (as of 8/14/2009) • Current Price: $500
This Discovery has been a favourite of mine for quite some time, and it has great potential, but I simply don't have the time, tools, or knowledge to restore it to its original glory. So, I'm forced to sell it. It currently has some difficulty with stable idling, and sounds a bit rough, so it's been driven only minimally for the last few years.
- Purchased: September 20, 2004
- Original Mileage: 90,261
- Total Driven: 18,973.9 (3,162.3 miles per year)
Service History
This truck has largely been self-maintained, and I've kept up with most scheduled maintenance on a regular basis (switched to synthetic oil October 2006). It has new headlight bulbs (with relays to increase brightness), a mostly-new alternator (purchased Feb 23 2005, replaced under warranty Oct 28 2005), a new serpentine belt, mostly-new brakes (April 7, 2007). In the winter of 2006, I replaced the heater core, as well as adapting the new one to use traditional hoses and clamps instead of the leak-prone factory design. In May 2006, I replaced the steering crossbar, which was damaged while off-roading (and it remains the only component damaged while off-roading this vehicle). And, in March 2007, I replaced the spare tire carrier, the old one had significant rust damage.
