Surprisingly small bridge supports underneath the extremely large (and high) highway bridge in Chesapeake City, MD. Considering that the bridge spanning the C&D Canal is over 140 feet (42 meters) above the river, and built in 1949, I expected the attachment points to its supports to be more substantial.
