This multi-colored Assateague pony was my favorite of the group. After they grazed for a while on one side of the marsh, she led the others through the bushes to graze right where I was standing. All of them were curious, but after checking me out, they decided I was harmless and went about their lunch. Ever since my first trip to Assateague, I've felt a near-spiritual kinship with these beautiful animals, and the way they acted during this photoshoot really amplified it.
